In an effort to tap the consciousness of the producers and consumers on the importance of rice, the Department of Agriculture (DA) 6 organized a three-kilometer Run for RICEponsibility today at SM City Iloilo for both rice farmers and consumers of Region 6.

The fun run is among the activities conducted by DA in support to the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) celebration this year.

“We would like to thank everyone for supporting our campaign on responsible consumption of rice. The theme for our celebration is Quality Rice, Quality Life. With this, we are encouraging our farmers to produce quality rice for consumers and contribute in achieving rice security, our consumers to be ‘riceponsible’, and the public influencers to help us advocate this campaign,” said DA 6 Regional Executive Director Remelyn R. Recoter.

This year’s NRAM focuses on how farmers and consumers can work together to produce quality rice and achieve quality life.
